Detached stone cottage with courtyard (adjacent to main house) and large mature gardens with stream, secluded setting in its own valley on the north side of the rugged and scenic Sheep’s Head Peninsula (recently given EDEN award for outstanding natural beauty). Spectacular views from top of garden. Sea 500 metres away with cove often populated with dolphins. Nearest shop, restaurant and pub at Kilcrohane (3 miles). Ahakista (7 miles), Durrus (10 miles). Bantry (15 miles) Ideal for walkers/cyclists. Adjacent to the Sheep’s Head Way (45 miles of marked trail) now part of the Wild Atlantic Way. 9/18 hole golf courses, horse trekking, restaurants, fishing trips, leisure centre and bicycle hire at Bantry. Amazing stargazing as no light pollution! Gortnakilla Pier and several coves nearby. Private rear patio with furniture, gas grill and use of main garden.

Comfortably furnished with kitchen/dining/sitting room with electric hob and microwave/grill/oven and open fire (with glass door), electric shower and W.C. and two bedrooms, one with a double with mattress topper and one with a 4ft double. Duvets. Electric storage heaters. TV for DVD use only (no reception) (large selection of DVDs). Portable radio/tape/CD player. Hairdryer. Access to washing machine and dryer. Wi-Fi. No pets. No smoking.

Notes

Sleeps 2 adults, 2 children.  Phone signals are OK, but the wireless signals can be affected by "local conditions".  
Water supply is from local spring, which can taint brown in bad weather so best to drink bottled water.  

 

Extras

Electricity. Wi-Fi available in bundles (fine for emails and data, but please - no streaming of TV or films - this may cause the bundle to be used up). A new bundle will cost €20 to replenish.
