On the 'Wild Atlantic Way', a traditional cottage, recently refurbished, in exceptional location, secluded but not isolated, in its own grounds on historic small country estate (also including 229/230) in an area of outstanding natural beauty right in the heart of Connemara on Ireland’s west coast. With a magnificent outlook over Cashel Bay and the beautiful rugged coastline, Doon Cottage offers a unique hideaway whilst still being within easy reach of popular resorts such as Roundstone and Clifden and their numerous shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. A pub and two 4 star hotels are within a mile. While hill-walking and swimming can be enjoyed on the doorstep, sandy beaches, fishing, sailing, golf, and horse-riding are in the area. The garden is landscaped and there is a sheltered terrace with garden furniture.
Furnished and equipped to a high standard with sitting/dining room with turf burning stove and door to terrace, kitchen and three bedrooms, one with a 6ft double, one with two singles and en suite shower and W.C. and a third bedroom (or as a sitting room with doors to terrace) with two singles. Two further bathrooms, one with W.C. and bath with shower, one with W.C. and bath. Digital TV/DVD, CD/radio, free Wi-Fi. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Microwave. Fridge/freezer. Duvets. Electricity and gas are included between May - September, but an extra between October and April.There is also a shared Reading Room (about 150 yrds from the cottage) inviting visitors to partake of a private library comprising over four thousand books. Filled bookcases, comfortable armchairs, a stove and tea and coffee are on offer, as well as facilities for playing pool, table tennis, card and board games as alternatives to reading.
